Class 1 Oaks and Class 2 Elms

Our EYFS unit consists of 2 reception classes Oaks and Elms. Miss Warren is the EYFS lead and Class Teacher for Oaks with Mrs Gleadhill as Teaching Assistant.

Miss Ryan is the class Teacher for Elms with Mrs Fletcher are Teaching assistant and we also have Miss Jackson as classroom support.

For the Spring 2 half term our Topic will be Spring on the farm! We will be learning all about farm animals, life on a farm, the names of baby farm animals and we will even have a special visitor to school on Thursday the 2nd March. We will be reading lots of lovely stories including our key texts of Farmer Duck and The Scarecrows Wedding.

In Maths we are looking at combining numbers and making pairs, and bonds to 10. We encourage the children to notice numbers and pattern in their environment all of the time.

We are at a stage now where children will be applying their phonics to read and applying this knowledge in their writing. We use the Read Write Inc scheme to teach phonics and our early reading. We have detailed some useful resources and links to support this below including our sound mat for the initial sets of letters sounds.
