Adults who work with your children are: Mrs Harper, Mrs Goodwin and Miss Hemmingway
Our topic in Class 5 for this half term is 'Yorkshire' - we have started to name the counties of the U.K. and identify features of a city. We are re-writing a traditional tale - The Elves and the Shoemaker and will be writing a leaflet about Yorkshire.
Our class book for this half term is The Sheep Pig - will the pig be able to round up the sheep?
In maths we are partitioning numbers into 100s, 10s and 1s and placing numbers up to 100 on a number line. We are reviewing the 10 and 5 x tables.
P.E. in Class 5, with Mr Fox, is on a Tuesday and Thursday. Please bring your kit on a Monday and leave it in school until the Friday when we will send it home. This half we are focussing on cricket skills.
We are drawing and shading to create tone in art and in music we are learning to sing and play the song 'Let Your Spirit Fly'
In R.E. we are learning more about the Gurdwara and special places. In Spanish we are learning to greet people and ask and answer 'What is Your Name?'
In science, we are learning about light and dark and have been investigating shadows and whether light travels through all objects.
Please make sure your child brings their water bottle and book bag to school every day. Children can change their reading book as many times as they need to during the week. The reading books are in the corner of the classroom and all children are aware of this.
Spellings will be sent via spelling shed on a Friday and please log on to TT rockstar to practise your times tables - 2,3,4,5,8 and 10s.
Thank you for your support and if there is anything at all you would like to speak about please catch myself or Mrs Goodwin in the morning or afternoon.
