Class 6

The adults working in class every day with you are Mrs Harper, Mrs Connell and Mrs Smith. You will also have P.E. with Mr Fox and Mrs Merrills will teach PSHE once a week.

P.E. is on a Monday and a Thursday – it is best if you bring your P.E. kit on a Monday and then take it home on a Thursday to be washed ready for the next week.

We are doing so well at winning the spelling battle - I will keep sending our spelling list home via spelling shed on a Friday to be learned for the following week.

We are reviewing and learning the 2,3,4,5,8 and 10 times tables in Class 6. We have recently started to enjoy TT rockstars in school. Please can you practise at home as well.

Children can change their reading books as many times as they like during the week, the book baskets are in our book corner.

In maths we are learning about unit and non-unit fractions and reading scales to measure weight and capacity.

In literacy we are writing a ‘twisted’ fairy tale based on Hansel and Gretel and are writing instructions about how to wash your elephant!

This half term our topic is World War Two. We are studying the following things:

History – we will be learning all about different aspects of World War Two;

Design Technology – We will be designing and creating our very own electrical posters, using world war two to give us our design ideas;

Science – we are learning about light and shadow and will be investigating what affects the length of shadows;

Computing – we are learning all about communication and especially email;

P.E. – is cricket and basketball skills;

Music - we will be appraising different reggae songs and we are learning to sing and play along to Three Little Birds by Bob Marley;

Spanish – we are learning about the seasons and starting to put some sentences about the seasons together;

Finally, in R.E. we are comparing different Churches to each other and comparing a Church to a Gurdwara.

Class 6’s door is always open – if you need to ask anything, please do. We are here to help. We are looking forward to a another super half term of hard work and fun in Class 6!
