Class Information

PE

Our PE days are Tuesday and Thursday. Please ensure you have your full PE kit on these days including trainers.

Spellings

Spellings are tested every Friday when we compete (and hopefully win) the whole school Spelling Battle!

Homework

Children are expected to read at home, practise their spellings and their times tables at home each week. Additional half termly tasks will be set on Purple Mash.

Reading

We LOVE reading. We have a selection of level-appropriate books in our classroom for you to choose from. It is expected that you read at home at least three times a week. Whenever you need to change your book, bring it back to school and swap it for one on the same colour band. You will be able to log your at home reading on our new GO READ system!

Guitars

Every Monday this half term, children are learning to play a musical instrument – the guitar! Guitars have been taken home by children so that they are able to practise at home. Please remember to bring your guitars on Mondays.

Times Tables

In Year 4, it is expected that children know all of tables up to 12. We have access to the app TTRockstars which children can access at home for extra practise. There will soon be a whole school times table competition! Make sure you are practising at home so that you are ready to win. There will be prizes for both attainment and effort!!

Learning

Our current topic is ‘Settlements,’ we are learning why people choose to settle in a location. We are also focusing on drawing in art, Sikhism in RE, e-safety and magnets.
