SEND Local Offer Live Marketplace Event BMBC’s Families Information Service are hosting a drop in information event for SEND parents/carers, SEND young people and professionals working with SEND families. It’s a great chance to meet some of the services, parent groups and organisations who offer support to SEND families in Barnsley. Around 30 Stallholders will be promoting their area of SEND support, so anyone who comes along has the chance to look at what is available and ask questions about how they can get the support they need. The event will take place at Priory Campus, Pontefract Road, Barnsley, S71 5PN, on the 21st of June 2023. Families, young people and professionals can drop in anytime between 10am to 5.30pm. For more information, please contact Families Information Service on infofis@barnsley.gov.uk or call 0800 0345 340

Welcome to our Special Educational Needs and  Disability (SEND) information page.

Upperwood is an inclusive school and believes that all children should be valued and treated with respect. We endeavor to ensure that the provision for all pupils is of the highest possible standard. We are committed to narrowing the attainment gap between children with SEND and their non - SEND peers and also those who are vulnerable at any stage of their educational life.

We want children to do their best, achieve, and be confident in their lives so they are prepared to move to their next stage in education.

The school works with due regard to the SEN Code of Practice (2014) and the Equality Act (2010).
