This will be my last post as your Year 5 teacher, which is sad as I was really hoping to see you all together again in our classroom before the Summer. I am however delighted to be moving to Year 6 with you, which means I will teach most of you again at some point next year! You will now know your class teacher for next year, but there is a good chance that you will have some lessons with both Mr Rae and I.
This year has been a strange one, with lots of challenges for us all to overcome. I have been amazed at the work you have continued to do whilst being at home, keeping yourselves and everybody else safe during this period. Prior to this, you were all doing a superb job in class and making progress both in your subjects and as people. I thoroughly enjoyed teaching Class 9 this year, coming to work everyday was a real pleasure for me and I hope you enjoyed it too. I know you all enjoyed the daily jokes (well, most of you anyway). We would have been celebrating a successful year at this time usually, but the circumstances mean we can't have you in school just yet. Your reports were a pleasure to write, I really hope you enjoyed reading them. Your parents should be very proud of you, and you should be proud of yourselves also.
September will come around quickly, so enjoy a break and keep safe over the Summer holiday. Try and do a little bit of work, whether that be some reading or some online resources to keep your brains working and prepared for your final year at Upperwood. Follow the link underneath for some resources to look at through the holidays if you wish to.
Have a great break everybody and thank you very much for all your hard work this year. Take care.
