Hello everyone and welcome to Class 5’s website page.
We’ve all had a really good start to the new school year. The children are all making friends and working together in our little bubble.
Here is some information for you regarding what’s happening at the moment in Class 5.
Your class teacher is Mrs Crossland and your teaching assistant is the wonderful Mrs Horne.
Our topic for this half term is Homes and Habitats. In art our focus is drawing and we are studying the artist Van Gogh. In Geography our focus in the UK and in particular Yorkshire. We are also studying Science, PSHE, RE and ICT.
We have daily phonics, Literacy and Maths lessons with opportunities to learn handwriting and spelling skills too! Our class book for this half –term is The Tiger Who Came to Tea.
Our PE days are Tuesday and Wednesday. Please ensure your child has a change of footwear which need to be in a carrier bag.
Our Spelling Shed test will take place on Friday. New spellings will go home on a Friday too. (Spelling Shed spellings will be updated each week with your child’s new spellings). Please encourage your child to go on spelling shed. On a Friday I will announce who is on top of our class leader board and they will be able to choose a prize out of the prize box.
Your child should bring their book packet every day. They will have the opportunity to change their book each day. Please encourage your child to read and sign the reading log.
Homework will be posted on SEESAW each week. If you require homework in an alternative format, please contact school.
If your child is unable to attend school due to the Covid regulations, I will post home learning on SEESAW each day.
